SIRIKAYA was created by Maew in 2011. She had a vision to create a business that would enable her to help her family back in Thailand, while providing kiwis the same Thai Massage experience that she had grown up with in her homeland.
So in a small shop in Pearn Place, Northcote, she started up her business. She was the only employee, but she did have two tables. Even then Maew had ambitions for growth. The area comprised of two rooms, a reception and a single massage room with 2 massage tables. She started off small, recalling that in her first week she had only two customers.It certainly wasn’t a very profitable start! But Maew could see it was going to take off.
Maew had studied Massage in Thailand. She passed the course but quickly realised she did not have the skills or depth of experience to provide a first class Thai Massage experience. What she did have was plenty of vision, enthusiasm and a sparkling personality. What she needed was some top quality and experienced Thai massage therapists.
So she started to look for help.
