SIRIKAYA was created by Maew in 2011. She had a vision to create a business that would provide New Zealanders with the same health benefits Thai Massage had given her growing up in Thailand.

Maew had studied Thai Massage Therapy in her homeland following the Traditional Thai Massage method – the most prominent therapeutic massage form in Thailand. So in a small shop in Pearn Place, Northcote, Sirikaya began. In her first week she had only two customers (it certainly wasn’t a very profitable start!), but Maew was confident that her fledgling business would grow.

However, Maew knew her training, skills and experience were limited so she felt unable to offer the full range of services she wanted Sirikaya to deliver.  Her vision was for Sirikaya to provide a first class therapeutic experience, so she started to look for help.

Maew was blessed to find Ying who brought to Sirikaya her considerable knowledge and depth of experience.  Ying has been instrumental in developing the style of massage unique to Sirikaya – a blend of Traditional Thai Massage and Western massage techniques to suit New Zealanders.

Such is the Sirikaya experience, the business has now grown to four clinics throughout the North Shore and Whangaparaoa and currently employs twelve professional therapists.
